To provide efficient administrative support in all aspects of the department’s work as directed by the Lead Urology Nurse Practitioner. (UNP)

This includes accurate data input of referral letters onto Lorenzo, booking of patients and to be responsive to patient enquiries. To be able to prioritise own workload and independently using initiative and deal with frequent interruptions. The post holder is expected to self-manage their workload and ensure their work is completed to a high standard and to designated deadlines.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of the Administration Clerk will be:
Book outpatient clinics, ensuring maximum utilisation of capacity (filling cancellation slots as necessary) in accordance with the agreed speciality, consultant and clinic protocols.

Book outpatient appointments on Lorenzo. Provide the UNP’s with the vetted referral letter to support the patient’s clinic attendance.

Add patients to outpatient follow-up waiting lists.

Track all medical records into and out of the department.

Complete referrals to external health care professional’s i.e Adult Bladder and Bowel Service, District nurses, with support from UNP team.

Ensure hospital records are requested for the patient’s appointment; inform medical records of late additions to clinic lists. Locate and retrieve notes within the department areas i.e. ward 7b and clinical coding.

General office administration to include; opening and distributing post, emails, photocopying, and other duties as required by UNP’s.
