At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Supervisor at our Bristol site.

The position involves:

Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive transport strategy aligning with company objectives, focusing on cost efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. Supervise a team of approximately 30, including Drivers and Office Staff. Support coordination and management of all transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries and effective route planning. Stay updated on industry regulations, transportation laws, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance within operations. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality through continuous analysis of transportation expenses and implementation of efficient practices. Assist in establishing KPIs for the transportation department, tracking metrics, and reporting performance to senior management. Contribute to implementing risk management strategies to address transportation challenges and develop contingency plans. Evaluate and recommend transportation management systems and relevant technologies to enhance processes and efficiency. Support the introduction and oversight of sustainable transportation practices to minimize the environmental impact. Assist in leading and motivating the transportation team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment to achieve departmental goals. Attend customer reviews and produce required statistics for meetings. Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports. Assist in conducting annual PDR interviews with direct reports.

Essential Skills required:

Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver’s hours and WTD's. Track record of leading successful change. Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions. Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business. Ability to present to Senior Key contacts within the business and to external customers. Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. IT literate including MS Office. Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.

Desirable Skills required:

Previous experience of working within transport industry, Proven experience in customer relationship management. Have managed financial budgets and annual Profit and Loss responsibility. Hold international or national CPC qualification and previous Transport Management experience. (CPC training provided for the right candidate)
