Job summary

We would like to appoint a Clinical/CounsellingPsychologist to work in the AMH Neighbourhood Mental Health Services (NMHS) inWorcestershire. We are apilot site for the Transformation Model working in the community consideringlocal need and linking with community services.

This is a Band 7 permanent post for hours per week (part time hours also considered). We provide face to face andvirtual interventions as clinically appropriate.

TheNMHS teams have integrated AMH psychological pathways for individuals withmoderate/severe, severe/enduring, psychosis/bipolar and emotionally unstablepresentations. This post holder would beworking on the moderate/severe pathway.

Thepost holder will apply Clinical or Counselling Psychology core values andclinical practice. They will encourageempowered service users to be active in their own recovery and encourage traumainformed care across the NMHS.

Main duties of the job

The post is integral to the NMHS, working with other psychologistsand mental health professionals. They will be a valued member of the psychologyprovision within the Trust.

They will provide psychological assessments leading tothe development of psychological formulations and individual and/or groupinterventions. They will work virtuallyand face to face as appropriate.

They will receive both clinical supervision and line management. Across the service we offer a variety ofsupervision for evidence-based models and invest in model specificsupervision.

They will attend all necessary NMHS team meetings and beinvolved in the NMHS psychology provision professional meetings.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Alongside the Band 7 Job Description and Person Specification, the post holder will:

Behave consistently with and promote the values of the trust

Adhere to HCPC practice guidelines

Implement the psychology provision guidelines and trust policies

Evaluate referrals, undertake the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with psychological difficulties with a varying range of complexity and aetiology with reference to clinical need and service capacity

Meet and maintain targets within the psychology provision

T his post will also be considered for candidates in their final year of professional training and prior to becoming registered as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC. They would be employed on a Band 6, fixed term, Trainee Clinical/Counselling Psychologist Job Description. Upon HCPC registration the post would then be upgraded to Band 7. This option is advertised separately as a Band 6 post.

Qualifications

Essential

BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS Evidence of regular continuing professional development through further professional training and experience, as required by the HCPC and the BPS Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Skills & Abilities

Able to formulate and articulate sound judgement based on analysis and interpretation of a broad range of complex information in both clinical and organisational contexts Able to prioritise own work and deal with competing demands to work effectively Able to undertake psychological assessments, treatments and consultation in a variety of environments, sometimes under difficult emotional circumstances
