Job summary

We are looking to recruit a part-time Specialist Nurse Practitioner with an independent prescribing qualification to join our well-established and very friendly team. The position will be for 25-30 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday. Salary will be negotiable and dependent on experience. Other benefits include 29 days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time) and enrolment into the NHS Pension Scheme.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a first point of contact for patients presenting with a range of undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems and will possess excellent triage skills. They will also possess excellent skills in history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of patient care.

You will be joining a well-established practice consisting of 2 GP Partners, a Salaried GP, Community Pharmacist, Physicians Associate, a nursing team comprising of 2 Practice Nurses and a Healthcare Assistant, supported by a full administrative team.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be an experienced nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries, will be able to provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. The Specialist Nurse Practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of appropriate referrals, policies and procedures.
