Charge Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Charge Nurse with excellent communication skills to join our 20 bedded stroke rehabilitation ward.
As part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of rehabilitative care to support and manage patients through their rehabilitation journey towards discharge planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to further develop their knowledge and skills within stroke rehabilitation and, as a role model, create a supportive ethos in the provision of a high quality service.
As a band 6 Charge Nurse you will be responsible for taking charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. The individual will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will ensure delivery of high quality care by setting and maintaining standards. Furthermore the post holder will play a key role in mentoring and developing junior staff, providing education and training opportunities and fostering a supportive environment. The individual should also show a willingness to lead and participate in quality improvement projects.
There will be a requirement to participate on the Duty Charge Nurse Rota covering weekends and public holidays as required.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
