Teaching Assistant

Location:Barnsley

Salary Scale: £86 to £110 per day

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

At one of our client schools in Barnsley, GSL Education is presently looking for a qualified and motivated Teaching Assistant to fill a role. In order to fulfill the varied needs of students and provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all, you will be instrumental in assisting teachers. In the imaginative and cooperative learning environment of GSL, take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future generation's growth while gaining invaluable assistance in the process.

Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and supporting students during activities and group work.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional help with understanding concepts, completing tasks, or staying focused.
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behavior by providing reinforcement, redirection, and encouragement to students.
  • Work with teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt learning activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • Provide support and extension activities to challenge advanced learners and scaffold learning for students who require additional assistance.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within an educational setting.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
