Salary Scale: £76- £95per day

About the Role:GSL Education is currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire. A Behaviour Mentor working with students with special educational needs in schools play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to improve behaviour and engagement.
  • Develop trusting relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and plans in collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Monitor and report on student progress in behaviour and learning.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities related to SEMH and behaviour management.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a mentoring, youth work, or similar role, with a focus on behaviour management.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with behavioural issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive, encouraging approach.
  • A commitment to professional growth and development in the field of education.
