Job summary

Band 2 - Ward Clerk

To undertake various clerical and administrative duties to facilitate the smooth running of the dialysis unit.

Help the nurses with admin duties and deal with the following:- Managing patient records for clinical review appointments including:- answering incoming calls and either dealing with enquiries or diverting calls- booking patient transport for outpatient appointments and treatment3. To be able to use the EPR system to book appointments, enter demographics, admit and discharge patients4. To prepare notes, and other relevant documentation for transfer with the patient to the wardsas required, tracking using EPR5. To support nursing and medical staff as To ensure the ward areas is kept well stocked with stationary, and photocopying as required

Main duties of the job

on a daily basis with nurse in charge2. To be able to use the EPR system to book appointments, enter demographics, admit anddischarge patients4. To prepare notes, and other relevant documentation for transfer with the patient to the Hospitalas required, tracking using EPR5. To support nursing and medical staff as To ensure the ward areas is kept well stocked with stationary, and photocopying as required7. Liaise with the facilities department on behalf of staff, logging maintenance requests.

Booking subsequent appointment and clinics on EPR.

Adding new patients to the system on EPR and CV5.

Admission and discharge of patients on a daily basis for each dialysis sessions.

Develop and maintain efficient and effective communication with the renal departments and external agencies to contribute to the smooth running of renal services.

Booking interpreter as required.

Filing reports in and general maintenance of notes.

To take responsibility for own personal development.
