Job summary

This post will be based in our Richmond cluster in the Emotional Health Service (EHS). The EHS is a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and counselling psychologists, systemic psychotherapists and creative psychotherapists who provide emotional health support to children and young people in Kingston and Richmond at a Tier 2 service level. We also have staff working in specialist posts in Safeguarding, Looked After Children and deliver a local Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service. We have a strong sense of team and working together. We offer opportunities to work flexibly and within a hybrid model of working. This is a post however we will consider a minimum of 3 days.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Specialist/ Systemic Psychotherapist you will be passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and putting them at the centre of all you do. You will provide high quality evidenced based assessments and interventions. You will be part of an established team and be afforded many different opportunities to use your skills. This includes direct work in schools, running groups, providing training, line management, supervision and we welcome creative and innovative ways to deliver services. You will receive clinical supervision and line management within the service.

The Emotional Health Service (EHS) is a dynamic and progressive multi-disciplinary team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Systemic Psychotherapists and Art Psychotherapists. We have teams at Richmond (Twickenham base), and Kingston (Chessington base) and work closely with our colleagues in Early Help and Social Care.

As a CAMH service we have a strong sense of team and work together to support children and young peoples emotional wellbeing. We also work to prioritise the wellbeing of the staff team.

As a Systemic Psychotherapist in the EHS in Twickenham you will be passionate about improving the mental health of children and young people and putting them at the centre of all you do.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Significant experience of working with complex and vulnerable families in UK CAMHS, in the community, working therapeutically with individuals and groups presenting with a range of needs. Ability to formulate and implement plans for therapeutic interventions with young people and families in line with research findings and evidence-based practice, across the full range of care settings. Able to work with children, young people and their families with suspected or diagnosed Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD. Ability to hold a caseload and complete assessment, direct interventions and consultative work Is able to provide consultation and training to education staff and other professionals on mental health Is able to use a broad range of assessment tools and frameworks to evaluate outcomes and progress for children and families Is able to manage priorities and work under pressure displaying initiative and creativity Is able to influence, develop and change the motivation and behaviour of people to achieve objectives Ability to provide high quality supervision Ability to provide line management to identified professionals Ability to demonstrate a high level of determination, personal drive, energy and ambition to achieve challenging targets and improve outcomes Ability to manage high levels of emotional distress and think clearly in emotionally charged situations Strong organisational ability, including the ability to work on initiative and to prioritise workloads to meet agreed deadlines Knowledge and understanding of data quality, information security and sharing requirements Experienced in the use of ICT, including MS Word, Outlook and case record management systems Knowledge of a range of business systems and software applications and a high standard of ICT literacy; ability to understand new technologies and their potential
