Rotational SHO in Acute & Specialist Medicine (Ealing)

The rotations are 12 month in duration, comprising of two 6 month placements in two of the following specialties - Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiology / DMOP (Dept of Medicine for Older People), Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases & Gastroenterology.

MBBS (or equivalent), MRCP UK (or equivalent), Full registration with GMC and previous UK experience are essential.

Acute on call rota attracts at 1b banding supplement.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

The posts consist of two 6 month specialty rotas. For those posts on an on-call rota you will be working either on the SDEC rotas which consists of standards days and long days over a seven day period. The Acute medical on-call rota consists of standards days, long days, twilights, nights and weekends providing ward cover or acute medical on call cover.

These posts mirror those of doctors in training, working in the same specialties on the same on-call rotas.

There will be the option of renewing the contract for another year dependant on performance during the year. Such an arrangement would be made before the next recruitment cycle.

Essential criteria

GMC registration

Previous medical experience in the UK of at least 6 months

At least one year's medical experience at F1 level or above

Sound general medical knowledge

Sound communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team

Keen to learn and train in busy Major Acute Hospital
