We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Pathway Co-ordinator within Psychological Medicine in the Cancer Directorate. This is a relatively new service which is expanding to provide psychological assessment and treatment for those patients undergoing treatment in the Cancer Centre.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be pivotal in providing comprehensive administrative support and screening of patients alongside the Consultant and team of nurses as the service develops and expands. 

Key elements of this will involve:

Efficient clinic management, ensuring patient appointments, lists are completed in a timely fashion.

Regular telephone contact with patients to request completion of questionnaires that have not been done electronically. This will involve asking patients questions relating to their mental health whilst they are undertaking treatment for their cancer diagnosis.

Offering advice and support to patients through a difficult time whilst exercising judgement to escalate concerns to clinical staff as appropriate.

Ensuring all relevant databases including EPR are accurate and up to date.

You will need to be highly organised and possess excellent communication skills as well as displaying understanding and compassion to ensure patients' receive the best possible care and customer service. Experience with databases is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
