Seeking a technical SEO expert to lead and optimizeclient websites, using a proprietary internal SEO stack to enhance performance,provide actionable insights, and ensure search engine success. This client-facingrole requires the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technicalaudiences while collaborating effectively with development teams. Keyresponsibilities include site health checks, audits, consultations, training,and proactive recommendations. Must-have requirements include 3+ years oftechnical SEO experience, proficiency in crawling tools and CMS platforms,knowledge of search engine algorithms, and familiarity with Google tools.Desirable skills encompass CDN services, international search, modern webdevelopment, and scripting abilities. The Role

About theRole

We are lookingfor someone to take a leading role within our technical SEO function,supporting our clients and wider team in all things related to making suresearch engines love our clients’ websites.

The role willbe heavily involved in defining and continuing to build out our proprietaryinternal technical SEO stack, which is able to support delivering abest-in-class SEO offering. This will include how data is collected andreported on, how we monitor and alert our clients to issues likely to affecttheir performance and how we weight these to provide insights that drive ROI.

About You

The idealcandidate will enjoy pulling apart websites, just to understand how they workand what technology is being used to make them.

They will beconfident in learning about new technologies, frameworks and best practices;distilling what they have read into accessible and coherent information so asto benefit our clients.

This role isclient facing and will require that the person who takes it on is confidentexplaining technical concepts in a way which is accessible and actionable fornon-technical audiences. Conversely, the candidate will also need to beconfident when working with Development and Product teams, speaking clearly andoffering examples where necessary to minimise mistakes and maximise the benefitof working on our recommendations.

Responsibilities

Perform on-going site health checks for all clients, ensuring that when things break, they are realised, a solution offered and when solved that performance returns to previous/normal.
Conduct comprehensive site audits as required, providing actionable reports and tickets that enable clients to understand the issues and criteria for implementing recommended solutions.
Act as a consultant throughout the lifecycle of large projects, such as site migrations, adding/removing propositions from our client’s website, internationalisation of a domain, etc.
Provide training, educational resources and actively participate meetings/calls to support our clients and their teams with understanding and implementing technical SEO best practice.
​Research and provide clients with proactive recommendations regarding changes made by search engines that may impact their SEO performance.

Requirements

Must haves

Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical SEO focused role – ideally agency-side.
Expert level understanding of both desktop and SaaS crawling tools.
In-depth knowledge of how search engines crawl, assess and score pages based on technical performance.
Experience and confidence working with enterprise and popular CMS platforms, such as WordPress, Shopify, Magento, Umbraco, Adobe Experience Manager, etc
Proficiency in using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager etc.Ability to audit and make recommendations for complex sites run by large brands with legacy systems. Strong understanding of popular web development libraries and frameworks, including their impact on SEO and common patterns for addressing those issues.

Desirable

Hands on experience working with popular CDN services, e.g. Cloudflare, Cloudfront and Fastly.
Experience with integrating SEO into wider marketing initiatives and working across teams to achieve excellent client results.
Experience working with international search, providing best practice recommendations for localisation and training for how to correctly tag and manage content.
An understanding of modern website development, including CI/CD pipelines, the build process, naming conventions, and serverless technology.
Familiarity with web storage, service workers and cookies.
Hands-on experience and confidence working with developer tools.
​Experience working with third-party APIs and creating scripts to crawl and extra data using Python, JavaScript or R.
