Start your career with us in NOV as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter. You will use your existing mathematical, English and technical knowledge as a foundation to build and develop skills critical to becoming a well-trained, experienced and key member of our Manchester manufacturing team. As an NOV Apprentice you will develop a strong understanding of fitting processes including turning, milling and fabrication skills. You will become part of a global business that has the people capabilities and vision to serve the needs of a challenging, evolving industry. 

During your Apprenticeship you will cover the following:-

Year One Leading into year Two: initially 22 weeks working towards hands-on NVQ Level 2 PEO Qualification in College. The NVQ Level 2 will create the basic foundations for progression - understanding general fundamental manufacturing processes and requirements within NOV Manchester. This will be continued and developed further through year two and three.

Year Two: On-site continued programme at Manchester with NOV team - gaining first-hand exposure in various employment areas and developing a deeper understanding of a specialist area surrounding one of the above.

Year Three: Further development of specialist area with a multi skilling capabilities in a range of main disciplines above.

Year Four:   Work with limited supervision within NOV. Graduate as a fully trained and multi skilled NOV employee.

During years 2, 3 & 4 the Apprentices will work towards gaining an NVQ Level 3 within the workplace in a vocational area as part of their recognized apprenticeship. They will also achieve the following …
