Job description Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location:   Ashington, Northumberland

Salary:  £75 - £110 per day

Start Date:  ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education  are looking for a committed  Graduate Teaching Assistant  to support students with  Special Educational Needs (SEN)  in a school located in Ashington, Northumberland . This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students requiring additional support.

Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse educational needs.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Facilitate communication between students and teaching staff.
  • Help create an inclusive and adaptive learning environment.

Qualifications and Requirements for a Graduate Teaching Assistant :

  • Degree in a relevant field, with a strong interest in special education.
  • Empathetic and patient approach to student interaction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses. In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
