Senior Estimator

Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator (Civils).  In this exciting role, you'll be part of an estimating team within a hugely successful pre-construction team, engaged on pricing projects from £5m to £500m in value in the water and nuclear sectors to meet and exceed client requirements. You'll manage all aspects of the estimating process, from receipt of documents to presentation of the price at review and preparation of submission documents.  You'll be joining a team of experienced Civil and MEICA estimators focussed on securing opportunities on frameworks and in the major projects arena. 

Location: Remote working with a base at a local Kier main office; Manchester/Birmingham/London

Contract: Permanent, Full time, flexible work options possible upon discussion 

Salary: £70-90k

Responsibilities

As a Senior Estimator, you'll be working within the Pre-Construction team, supporting them in preparation of pricing for tenders/bids and other opportunities identified by the business, from receipt of documents through to presentation at tender review and completion of submission documents.

Your day to day will include:

• Work closely with bid teams and be responsible for the preparation of the pricing/analytical estimate.
• Preparation of preliminaries (On-cost) pricing (In conjunction with Tender Planner).
• Presentation of the estimate at bid team meetings and final settlement of bid.
• Working to strict deadlines.
• Experience of pricing work under various forms of contract including Traditional NEC, Target Cost, Design & Build, Specification & Drawing or ECI bids.
• Preparation of quantities from drawings and specifications, working with recognised methods of measurement, such as CESMM and MMHW. 

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:

• Ideally degree/HNC qualified in a construction or civil engineering related subject.
• 5+ Years experience working as an Estimator for a major civil engineering contractor.
• Experience of pricing in the water and nuclear sectors would be an advantage.
• Experience using Candy estimating software or similar would be a benefit.
• Ability to manage administrative support and other members of the team to ensure the successful undertaking of the tender.
• Have good commercial awareness with a knowledge of various Forms of Contract, NEC, ICE, IChemE.
