Securities Services – Agency Securities Finance Lawyer – Vice President

This is a great opportunity for highly motivated Agency Securities Finance Lawyer to join JP Morgan Legal Department.

As a Vice President in the Legal Department, specializing in Agency Securities Finance Law within the Securities Services team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Agency Securities Finance Business. Your responsibilities will include closely collaborating with business representatives and other corporate functions on a global scale, offering your legal expertise and guidance.

This position provides substantial opportunities for career growth within the wider Securities Services legal team across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You will be expected to operate with minimal supervision, showcasing robust organizational and project management skills, and the capacity to work independently in a dynamic and complex business setting.

Job responsibilities

Provision of legal guidance and expertise to the Business throughout Europe, specifically although not limited to Luxembourg and the UK, including general advice and negotiation and drafting of transaction documentation and contracts Working closely with Business on product development Providing day-to-day legal advice and guidance in relation to the flow business and generally, ad hoc legal advice, as required Working with the Business and the respective industry groups to assess and implement new regulatory requirements Assessing legal risk, advising on such risk and reviewing policies and procedures and processing changes to mitigate risk Instructing and liaising with external counsel, as required. Advising the Business on key legal/regulatory issues Participating in Projects and the development of operational processes which have a legal impact Liaising with Business representatives and legal/compliance colleagues and other control functions (. credit, tax in EMEA and globally (US and Asia)

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

English qualified with post qualification experience with a City law firm or equivalent experience as lawyer obtained in private practice or in-house Strong background in Securities Services business which includes agency securities financing would be ideal Ability to understand the business needs and partner with the business to create solutions Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to interact effectively with clients Strong negotiation and drafting skills Ability to work independently, manage complex projects and multitask successfully in fast-paced and complex business environment
