GSL Education is seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools in Newcastle.

Job Summary: Graduate Teaching Assistants in secondary settings provide crucial academic support under the supervision of subject teachers, facilitating learning and personal development in older students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom activities and help manage student behavior.
  • Provide targeted assistance to students during lessons.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setting up of equipment.
  • Help students understand lesson content and complete assignments.

Requirements:

  • A university degree, preferably in a subject taught at secondary level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with teenagers.
  • Proactive and eager to contribute to student learning.
  • Ability to work well under the guidance of a lead teacher.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
