Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence. Able to work with numbers for billing and revenue capture purposes. MUST have Venepuncture and ECG skills. Good organisational skills. Ability to handle clinical material in a safe manner. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.

Duties of this role include:

Supporting the Pathology department, by acting as a link between the department and other clinical departments, including Ward and Theatres. To perform tasks associated with specimen handling, dispatch and transport in an effective and correct manner, managing the dispatch of laboratory results. Ensure safe handling and maintenance of equipment. Ensure correct segregation of waste. Commitment to ensuring quality services are delivered to both internal & external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.
