Salary: £23,151.50 per annum
Location: Neath Port Talbot
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time –20 hours per week (we also offer casual hours for a more flexible work/life balance)

A bit about the role
This Residential Support Worker role, is an entry level position, where you'll help create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop.
You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy.
It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

About the service
This is a fun and welcoming home and you'll be joining a committed and ambitious team, led by a manager who really wants to see you develop and reach your potential
Park House was developed in partnership between Action for Children and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in 2012 and is a three-bedroom bungalow offering children and teenagers with disabilities short-term and planned residential breaks, where the children can explore, make friends, access new opportunities and learn new life skills.
The purpose-built property is located in the heart of the Port Talbot community, close to beautiful Aberavon beach.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
You'll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You'll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Ideally you'll:
Understand how to engage with young people. Have a positive approach and ‘can do' attitude. Ability to work on your own or as part of a team. Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.Good to know
As a non-profit organization, we are committed to the recent update from the Welsh Government in relation to ‘eliminating private profit from the care of children looked after'.
“80% of care homes in Wales are run by the private sector. Our aim is to ensure that public money invested in the care of children looked after does not profit individuals or corporate entities, but is wholly spent on children's services to deliver better experiences and outcomes for children and young people, supporting service development and improvement and further professional development for staff.”
By 2027, they aim to have the care of children who are looked after in Wales, to be provided by the public Sector and charitable or non-profile organisations.
