The South and West Rehabilitation and Recovery Team are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Senior Mental Health Practitioners. The right candidate will have a passion for working with people with complex psychosis, supporting them to reach their recovery goals.

You will be an experienced mental health professional (Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) who has a genuine interest in collaborative working with people with complex psychosis, including service users, their carers and families. The role will involve working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) supporting people through the Rehab pathway in both inpatient and community settings. Using your expert skills and knowledge in assessment and support planning. The successful applicant will be innovative and compassionate clinicians, who is motivated to deliver individualised, person-centred care and make a positive contribution to service development

The job covers a wide geographical area covering the whole of South and West Devon so the ability to travel to meet the demands of the role will be essential.

Main duties of the job

With training and support, you will feel confident indelivering therapeutic interventions and liaising with other professionalsregarding progress and outcomes.

As a Rehab coordinator you will be responsible for your owncaseload and provide assessment, case management and deliver interventions forpeople with a wide range of needs. You will ensure that the service usersrecovery goals are central to their Care Plan and promote social inclusion,independence and wellbeing. You will demonstrate excellent communication andteam working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutoryand third sector agencies.

You will have an enthusiastic approach towards yourprofessional development. In return, you will receive an annual appraisal,monthly clinical and management supervision, reflective practice sessions andthe support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary leadership team.We will provide a comprehensive induction and support you to learn the skillsyou need to thrive in the role. Qualifications

Essential

A professional mental health qualification eg RMN, Social Work Degree or equivalent, BSc/Diploma in OT, SROT, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, ENB 811/812 or CPN Degree.

Desirable

Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism Clinical Supervision qualification Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff

Experience

Essential

Extensive post registration experience working at band 5 or above in mental health. Substantial experience of managing/leading a busy caseload of clients within a community setting and without supervision. Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector. Experience of working with people with serious mental illness such as Schizophrenia. Experience of clinically supervising junior and unqualified staff and mentoring students Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment. Participation in user involvement in services. Experience in deputising for more senior staff

Desirable

Evidence of following through specific pieces of work or projects as delegated by team managers or others, Experience of working within a rehabilitation model

Skills and abilities

Essential

An understanding of the Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements. Awareness of community structures and social care management responsibilities. Understanding of recovery principles in Mental Health. Excellent clinical assessment skills. Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems. Able to produce well written reports. Ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals from various settings. Ability to think and work independently/autonomously and with complex case load
