We arelooking for a Project Portfolio Manager responsible for overseeingand managing the Project Management Office (PMO) function withinBKL. This role involves defining and refining project managementstandards processes and methodologies to elevate organisationalperformance. You will collaborate extensively with project managersand teams across BKL ensuring all projects not only align with butalso actively advance our organisational goals and strategicframework. Your leadership will provide critical visibility ofproject metrics and progress to senior management making this roleessential to our companys success and your professionalgrowth.

The Project Portfolio Manager willplay a pivotal role in enhancing our companys project execution bymonitoring project performance and providing essential guidance toproject managers. By focusing on tracking performance metrics thisrole will ensure projects stay aligned with our strategicobjectives. Additionally the manager will proactively handle riskmanagement and resource dependencies maintaining project integrityand timeliness. Effective communication and robust leadership willenable this individual to provide valuable insights and reports tosenior management fostering an environment of transparency andaccountability. With an agile and pragmatic approach the ProjectPortfolio Manager will be instrumental in driving project successand operational excellence making them a highly valued addition toour team.

YouWill

  • Champion and enforce anorganisationwide standard framework for project delivery includingstandards and templates to assist successfuldelivery.
  • Establish organisationwide projectreporting and control.
  • Provide visibility andprepare documentation for the Change Board (CB) to assist in thesafe initiation of new projects and controlled delivery of inflightprojects.
  • Change Board management maintain theoverall project pipeline for BKL support projects through theproject lifecycle prepare and manage CB meetings and facilitate thechange request process.
  • Resource planning:Understand project resource requirements (internal and external)advise on any upcoming resource pinchpoints and identify and helpclose any capability gaps.
  • Reporting: Createportfoliolevel status reports and dashboards for the Executivehighlight areas of concern or progress and identify any keydependencies and trends in project risks andissues.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Coachproject teams on risk management and assist with developingeffective risk management and issuetreatment.
  • Benefits visibility: help projectsmaintain their benefits case throughout the project lifecycle andprovide visibility during and post projectclosure.
  • Standards & Guidance: Championproject standards guidance templates and tools across BKL providetraining and coaching to project teams continually review and applybest practice to ensure the governance process is addingvalue.
You will be ideal for thisrole if:
  • Hold one or more of thefollowing qualifications P3O Practitioner MSP PMQ or PRINCE2/AgilePractitioner.
  • Have at least three years ofexperience in managing a portfolio of projects within anondeliveryfocused organisation.
  • Havedemonstratable experience with both traditional and agile projectdelivery methodologies.
  • Have experienceimplementing different software systems such as Dynamics 365 XeroKarbon or Silverfin.
  • Can collect analyse andpresent data clearly and effectively.
  • Haveexperience conducting RAID management and planningworkshops.
  • Are adept at managing and supportingChange Approval Boards.
  • Have a track record ofreporting to executivelevel boards on portfolio status issues andsuccesses.
  • Have crossindustryexperience.
  • Exhibit strong relationshipbuildingand collaboration skills.
  • Communicate clearlyand persuasively without relying onauthority.
  • Use a pragmatic approach toproblemsolving and can challenge ideasprofessionally.
  • Are receptive to feedback andcommitted to continuousimprovement.
