Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced nurse with a passion for supporting patients with endometriosis and sub-fertility to join our multidisciplinary specialist team. The successful applicant will work to develop our nurse specialist services for women with pelvic pain, endometriosis and sub-fertility. The role will ensure patients and their families have access to necessary services by working in collaboration with other professionals to give appropriate specialist advice, support and education in relation to all aspects of pelvic pain, endometriosis and sub-fertility, ensuring patients receive sustainable high quality evidence based care.

Main duties of the job

Acting as an expert Clinical Nurse Specialist for both endometriosis and sub-fertility, the post holder will have responsibility for the management of their own clinics and related administration. The post holder will participate and advise in the multidisciplinary discussion of patient's clinical needs, working as an integral member of the endometriosis/sub-fertility MDT.

The post holder will provide expert advice, education and support to the multidisciplinary team, patients, partners and their representative groups. In conjunction with colleagues, the post holder will develop patient information, protocols, standards and guidelines in line with national and local recommendations, demonstrating values and behaviours to act as a Senior Nurse role model within the organisation.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Degree in Nursing Teaching and Assessing Evidence of continuing professional development Post registration training in aspects of gynaecology

Desirable

Endometriosis or and Fertility workshop attended or can provide evidence of interest in those areas. Sonography qualification Counselling qualification

Extensive experience in the speciality High level of awareness and understanding of Gynaecology in particular subfertility and endometriosis Able to deliver practitioner led care in a clinical setting Ability to communicate at a high level, and deal with distressing and difficult conversations. Knowledge of the BSGE & endometriosis centre and HFEA and its role in fertility Willingness to undertake any training necessary for the role. Flexibility to cross cover endometriosis and fertility services as necessary.
