As an Apprentice Maintenance Operative at Bannatyne, you will embark on an exciting journey to develop your skills and knowledge in the maintenance field. Under the guidance of experienced professionals you will assist in maintaining our health club facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming. This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in maintenance within a dynamic and supportive environment. On successful completion will have gained a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Qualification.
A typical day in the life of a Apprentice Maintenance Operative:
- Assist in the regular inspection and maintenance of gym equipment. Performing basic repairs and reporting major issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the health club, including gym floor, changing rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
- Learn and adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices, ensuring we comply with these. Learn to perform basic repairs on plumbing, building works and electrical systems.
- Assist in monitoring and managing maintenance supplies and tool inventory.
- Support in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including completed work orders and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to gym members, addressing their maintenance related inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions and complete any required training.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to develop a comprehensive understanding of maintenance operations.
- 1 Day per Week in College - London South East Colleges.
What we are looking for:
- GCSEs or equivalent
- Strong interest in building maintenance and repair.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending and being on your feet for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and team working skills. An eagerness to learn, along with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
It would be desirable if you have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. It would also be beneficial if you had completed some technical training.
