Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry-Triage Team

Job summary
The post offered is that of Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry, working between the Barnet Triage Team and Wellbeing Clinic. The Triage Team role involves supporting the team with screening GP referrals where medical input is required, providing advice to primary care colleagues, and reviewing primary care patients unlikely to need the support of a community mental health team (CMHT). The Wellbeing Clinic role involves reviewing standalone patients (not receiving input from a CMHT) attending for depot medication or clozapine monitoring. This post was initially commissioned as pilot for twelve months as part of the Community Transformation Programme within Barnet, and is currently occupied by a fixed term locum. The post is full-time for ten Programmed Activities (PA): Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and Supporting Professional Activities (SPA).
Main duties of the job
o Provide leadership and supervision for a multidisciplinary Primary Care Triage Team, and the Wellbeing Clinic team in Provide supervision to Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP). Within six months of obtaining a CCT in general adult psychiatry (or dual trained) or on the GMC Specialist Register Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent Excellent clinical skills with experience of inpatient psychiatric care Full GMC Registration Section 12 Approved and an Approved Clinician Registered for the Continuing Professional Development Programme in the Royal College of Psychiatrists Membership of a Medical Defence Union Clinical supervision skills training
