The Department of Modern Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences at Widener University invites applications for the position of Adjunct Professor of French. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Francophone language and culture at the undergraduate level and will be expected to teach primarily language classes at the beginner and intermediate levels. The ability and credentials to teach advanced literature and culture at the 300-level is preferred but not required for consideration for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach a three-course load for AY2024-25 (lower-division French; Francophone literature and culture teaching assignments are dependent upon qualifications and experience) Adjunct language faculty at Widener enjoy a great deal of autonomy at Widener. They design their own syllabi and are free to implement their preferred language acquisition pedagogy and techniques of their choosing within prevailing norms and best practices in SLA. A minimum of 4 office hours weekly are required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MA in French or closely related field Experience teaching French language at the undergraduate level; The ability and credentials to teach advanced literature and culture at the 300-level is preferred but not required for consideration for this position.
