  • Graduate Learning Support Assistant
  • Core Subject or Psychology graduates welcome to apply
  • Must have minimum 2:1 degree to apply
  • Work within ASD, SEMD and SpLD and gain experience with a variety of needs
  • Work for the rest of the academic year - view to extending from September 2024
  • Reputable secondary school located in north Liverpool
  • Located 10-minutes from the city centre - good public transport links
  • Earn up £465 per week as a Graduate Learning Support Assistant
  • Sscondary School graded “Good” by Ofsted
  • Highly regarded induction and ongoing training will be given

The role

The role of a Graduate Learning Support Assistant involves establishing a learning environment that recognises the difficulties that SEN students may face. Learning Support assistants generally have more time to form bonds with pupils during one-on-one learning.

  • Organize outside-the-classroom learning activities, which include sports and/or school outings
  • Work with fellow learning support assistants to identify specific needs of each child
  • Make use of some ‘eye-catching’ instruments like computers to arouse interest in learning by children
  • Work hand-in-hand with the classroom teachers to ensure that activities that are being put in place for children are related to national curriculum
  • Work closely with other professionals like educational psychologists or physiotherapists
  • Teach and mentor students, both collectively and individually
  • Look after student’s social and emotional needs
  • Communicate with students to determine their needs and ensure they are equally met
  • Observe students to find out changes in behaviour or in other areas and report such observations to the classroom teacher
