Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 Senior Peer Support Worker, to work in our brand-new Young Persons Transition Pathway.
The role of Senior Peer Support Worker (PSW) has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of recovery from mental health challenges and experience of professionally utilising these experiences within mental health settings as Peer Support Workers. Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, you will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. In the context of The Young Persons Transition Pathway, you will, with guidance from the Trust-wide Lived Experience Leadership Teamand Senior Peer Support Workers, facilitate and support the expansion of Peer Support Worker roles in the team.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide high quality individual supervision to Peer Support Workers in community services within the allocated location.
2. To be actively involved in the process of recruitment of Peer Support Workers including being on interview panels.
3. To proactively engage and work with a range of internal services including Human Resources and Occupational Health to ensure robust processes are in operation for the recruitment and maintenance of wellbeing of the Peer Support Workers.
4. To effectively co-deliver training, including the accredited 'Developing Expertise in Peer Support', 'Peer Support Worker Team Preparation' sessions in readiness for peer support workers taking up post within teams; and learning and development activities within the Recovery College.
5. To maintain professional relationships with particular attention to confidentiality and the maintenance of boundaries.

The Young Persons Transition Pathway provides mental health support to young people transitioning from Childrens Mental Health services to Adult Mental Health Services. We follow a person centred model of service delivery focusing on the direct needs of the Young Person, working across boundaries of care, organisation and role.
Regular hours would be 09:00 to 17:00 hrs Monday to Friday
