onnex Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a full time role within s SEND school in Chester. To support children aged 11 – 16 within the classroom who have special educational needs (SEN).

About the school

The school cater for secondary aged students, who have a strong emphasis on supporting students who have SEMH needs and ensure they have an excellent provision in place for all students. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting KS 3 and 4 Students within the classroom.

Assignment Details

This role will commence immediately and is full time during term time so you must be available Monday – Friday. Duties will involve providing learning support on a 1:1 or small group basis, implementing personalised learning programs, monitoring student progress, and assisting teachers in an inclusive classroom environment.

Person Specification
• Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH conditions.
• Must be 21 or over
• Must have UK school based experience
• Knowledge of child development and learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
• · Good organization and multitasking abilities
