Summary

***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***

The Nature and Climate Funding Analyst is a new and excellent opportunity to join us and play a critical role in supporting and driving forward this new responsibility for Treasury on a fixed term contract of 24 months.

We’re a leading charity in the UK and Europe's largest conservation body. We oversee more than 780 miles of coastline, over 250,000 hectares of land, and over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments, gardens, parks, and nature reserves, all preserved "forever for everyone". Committed to combating climate change, we’re aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and we’re passionate about safeguarding and enhancing a natural environment under significant pressure.

Our Treasury and Investments team play a crucial and wide-ranging role. Managing our investment portfolio of approximately £1.5 billion, they align the portfolio with our environmental goals without compromising returns. They secure external debt, finance most of the commercial and renewable energy projects and oversee day-to-day cash management. They’re also starting to develop innovative strategies for accessing finance to support action on climate change and nature restoration initiatives.

What it's like to work here

The Treasury team collaborates across all levels of the Trust, from individual properties to the Board and Trustees. We pride ourselves on our adaptability and teamwork, offering expert advice, innovative financing options, and efficient processes to drive organizational success.Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office some of the time. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week though. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be responsible for developing clear, inspiring and innovative ways to showcase and report on our Nature delivery impacts and outputs for both external and internal audiences. You’ll devise, create and evolve the tools, financial models and data analysis to robustly identify the financial, planning and delivery requirements of our Nature plans.

Your work will support us in driving forward our ambition to raise significant sums of Nature and Climate Finance across a wide range of sources and apply them in the most efficient and optimal way possible.

You’ll work across a wide range of stakeholders and internal/external experts evolving internal capabilities, tools, processes and models to better understand and optimise funding for nature and climate projects and enabling the sharing of data, insight and best practice.

Who we're looking for

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don’t need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role. For this position we’re looking for someone who has:
