An opportunity has arisen for an experienced band 5 looking to progress their career or an existing band 6 Occupational Therapist looking to work within the clinical specialty of Acute Medicine at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury. Conditions that you are likely to see will be orthopaedic, neurological, MSK, respiratory and frailty.

A band 5 to 6 training post may be considered for the right candidate with at least 12 months post graduate experience with support offered to achieve band 6 competencies.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team, working within an integrated model of care on our acute medical unit to provide timely assessments, interventions and support with discharge planning for our patients. There will also be opportunities for you to develop your clinical experience within an acute hospital setting, including A&E and Urgent Care services. We offer an innovative service and pride ourselves on providing evidence based, quality care.

You will gain experience of working in a busy and pro-active environment where evidence-based practice is embedded and joint working, service development and CPD is encouraged. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced band 5 looking to progress in their career or an existing band 6 wanting to specialise in this dynamic clinical area.

You will have gained experience as a band 5 and have evidence of relevant skills required for a band 6 post in a range of clinical areas. As a band 6 you will receive support from the Band 7 Therapy team leaders and peers. You will be expected to provide supervision to more junior staff and students.

The service operates over seven days and as such some weekend working is required as part of the role.
