Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic NHS Consultant colleague dedicated to providing high quality patient care. The post is to support the established consultant team in order to provide a comprehensive Consultant served Otorhinolaryngology (ORL) at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Foundation Trust and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
As a senior employee of the Trust the postholders will work in close co-operation with other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. The main responsibilities for each post will be towards managing the local general ORL workload with complimentary subspecialty interest or interests (Otology and Paeditarics ORL) to complement or augment current subspecialties' across the Trust.
Whilst the NHS Locum Consultant post will be based at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, the post holder may be required to travel to SGH for elective and emergency activity. Travel time and expenses will be provided for this.
The successful post holder will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems and library services.

Main duties of the job
As a senior employee of the Trust the post-holder will work in close co-operation with, and support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements:-
To ensure the provision of a first class clinical service To provide effective leadership to junior doctors and medical students To undertake all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's and Operational Group's services plansThe Trust provides services over three sites; Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Goole District Hospital. There are also outpatient services conducted at Louth County Hospital. All the outpatient clinics have microscopes and flexible endoscopes and a range of imaging systems. The Otorhinolaryngological theatres are equipped with imaging, recording and monitoring for a wide range of procedures.

This post is for a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of procedures in this busy Trust. The post holder would be expected to perform general otorhinolaryngological duties with a complimentary special interest. The subspecialty interest will be developed in line with the competencies and preferences of the applicant recognising that tertiary care services are available at Hull, Sheffield and Nottingham teaching hospitals NHS trust.

Essential
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, FRCS ORL-HNS or equivalent Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment. oapplicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English OR ohave the following scores in the academic lnternational English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Overall , Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7 OR ohave achieved at least grade B in the medicine version of the Occupational English Test, in each area, speaking, listening, reading & writing Entry on the Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview), CESR or European Community Rights
