Barnardo's, in partnership with NHS Oxford Health Trust, are seeking suitably qualified and highly motivated full or part time Link Workers to join a newly established service in Wiltshire. Link Workers will work alongside Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) to offer non-clinical support to children and young people, including:
Conducting wellbeing assessments and developing support plans 1:1 and group support for wellbeing (up to 8 sessions) Social prescribing and community navigation Community and school-based support Advice and guidance, including self-helpThis role offers a unique opportunity to work as a Barnardo's employee, under an honorary NHS contract, contributing to the wellbeing of the community's youth. Link Workers will be adaptable and flexible to the needs of children and young people, offering support in places and spaces across Wiltshire. CAMHS offices are located in Melksham, Marlborough and Salisbury; successful candidates will be allocated a primary area of work to minimise travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishing Links:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, families, and relevant agencies to facilitate access to the right support at the right time. Develop and maintain a directory of local community groups and support networks to enable effective social prescribing and community navigation.Assessment and Support:
Conduct initial wellbeing assessments to identify support needs and goals. Collaborate with CAMHS professionals to develop individualised support plans, ensuring they are implemented effectively. Hold a caseload of children and young people, providing wellbeing interventions, guidance and signposting to appropriate resources.Advocacy and Guidance:
Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people within the CAMHS system. Offer guidance to children, young people and families on navigating the mental health support landscape, including available services and pathways to care.Collaborative Working:
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams within Barnardo's and the NHS to co-ordinate holistic care for children and young people. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and relevant training sessions to enhance service delivery.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of interactions, assessments, and support plans in accordance with Barnardo's and NHS guidelines. Maintain accurate and up to date outcomes and feedback records.Barnardo's and the NHS are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
