Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen totrain as a High Intensity Therapist within Devons NHS Talking Therapies(NHS-TT) Service, TALKWORKS. This is a training role within the ImprovingAccess to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT).

Please note that successful applicants must be available to commence the training course from the 6th January 2025 due to funding.

The post-holder will workwithin TALKWORKS providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking aprogramme of training for this role. TALKWORKSoffer psychological therapies across Devon (except Plymouth) and works inconjunction with Exeter University. We are really pleased to be expanding ourservice and have 11 posts across the service, in various TALKWORKS bases.

TALKWORKSis a large, high performing NHS-TT service, with strong fidelity to thetreatment service and 12 teams across Devon (excludingPlymouth) cover a large geographical area and we strive to maintain a strongand healthy team culture. We welcome applications from positive and motivatedindividuals who are able to contribute to this and have a keen interest indeveloping their existing CBT skills with anxiety and depression.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have excellentorganisational and interpersonal skills, a strong background in clinical workand/or mental health and be an enthusiastic and motivated trainee therapist.The post will require resilience, independent learning and to be resourceful.You will hold a small caseload in the clinical environment, attend regularstudy days and will receive supervision from the University and within thework-place.

This intensive training post willequip the post holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT isdemonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in theservice for part of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attendingthe training programme for the rest of the week (commencing 6thJanuary 2025).

The post holder will work with peoplewith different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessaryand should be committed to equal opportunities.
