Position: Chef (DBS)
Location: Oxford

Salary: £16.50 and hours (approx. 30 hours a week)
Shift : Week one working days would be Wednesday Thursday and Friday
Week two working days would be Monday, Saturday and Sunday
This shifts include a 30 min paid break and a 30 min unpaid break.

The ideal candidate for this chef position at a local Oxford care home should be adept at preparing high-quality, fresh meals and possess a flexible approach to various cooking styles. The role requires catering to a 36-bed facility. It's essential for the chef to be comfortable with cooking from scratch, ensuring the provision of nutritious and appealing meals to the residents. Additionally, the chef should be able to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the residents. A strong emphasis is placed on the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to the dynamic needs of the care home environment.

Responsibilities
* following specifications to make a balanced menu that caters to the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
* Ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
* Accommodating special dietary requirements, such as food intolerances, allergies, and texture modifications for dysphagia.
* Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety throughout the kitchen operations.
* Engaging with resident feedback to understand their experiences and adapt where needed
* Planning and preparing for special occasions and events, providing themed dishes and cake when needed
* Keeping up to ate with food safety regulations and ensuring compliance within the kitchen.
* Support management by monitoring food wastage and implementing measures to minimize it.
