NHS Lanarkshire has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist, with an interest in oculoplastic, based at University Hospital Hairmyres, East Kilbride. The post is available now and is for 6 months in the first instance.

The Department provides an expanding Ophthalmology service for the Lanarkshire region. Outpatient clinics are undertaken at University Hospital Hairmyres, University Hospital Monklands and University Hospital Wishaw. Elective surgery and inpatient admission facilities are primarily performed at University Hospital Hairmyres.

The department is evolving and expanding to ensure we continue to provide our patients with a modern and compassionate service.

The successful candidates will join a team of 10 additional Consultants, one Associate Specialist, two Specialty Doctors and five Specialist Trainees on rotation from the West of Scotland Ophthalmology Training programme.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis (including up to 2 non-DCC) but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.
