OVERALL SUMMARY

We are looking for a Responsible Investment Associate to join our team to support the delivery of all CBAM’s responsible investment functions that include but are not limited to: research, engagement, sustainability risk management and reporting. The role will have a specific focus on the production and ownership of CBAM’s responsible investment reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute all of CBAM’s responsible investment reporting and disclosure requirements including: TCFD, UK SDR, UK Stewardship Code, UN PRI and Net-Zero Asset Managers initiative (NZAM).
  • Collate, track and analyse all data necessary to complete the reporting requirements. This includes calculation and interpretation of climate-based metrics. 
  • Support the development and implementation of CBAM’s engagement strategy, with a specific focus on investee climate transition plans.
  • Support industry and company research that is required to carry out effective investee engagement.
  • Support CBAM’s voting function, including the application of our internal Voting Guidelines and production of voting reports.
  • Support the Head of Responsible Investment in delivering all of CBAM’s responsible investment activities.
  • Proactively take part in sustainable investment events, conferences, and networks.

Regulatory Responsibilities (Compliance/T&C)

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and Group Compliance and Risk policies.

As a Certified Person under SMCR, you must accept responsibility and demonstrate an understanding for the regulatory aspects and framework of the FCA certification function(s) that you perform, and ensure you meet and abide by the rules of the FCA’s fit and proper test, and comply with the FCA’s Conduct Rules. Additionally, you must ensure your compliance with all internal policies, procedures and standards.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU / PLEASE APPLY IF YOU HAVE:

  • Demonstrable previous experience directly relevant to the key responsibilities.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the responsible investment reporting and data requirements of a UK based asset or wealth manager.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the responsible investment industry, public market investing, climate transition plans, and best practice stewardship activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office.
