Job summary
Blackwater Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic paramedic with experience in primary care, to join their team on a full or part-time basis, depending on the successful applicant.
You will be able to demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and expert care of patients within our Practice, be competent in history taking and clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary, general practice team to meet the needs of the patient and manage clinical cases (mostly minor illnesses) and to be able to deal with presenting patient needs within a primary care setting.
Main duties of the job
Work as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic, providing a holistic approach including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver high-quality patient services in the home or practice. Work closely together and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary workforce including, GPs, pharmacists, nurses, and social prescribers. Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients and service users, promoting self-care and empowering them to make informed choices about their treatment. Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or injury, supported by senior clinicians as needed.

Qualifications
Essential
Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience, in primary care; Have completed ENP/ ECP Minor Injuries and Minor Illness course Level 6 and be a ALS/APLS provider;
Experience
Essential
Be able to effectively assess, plan, treat and refer patients; Be able to evaluate patient care confidently; Have experience of working to protocols and guidelines; To exhibit excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills; Have the ability to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively; Understanding of the need to work within the parameters of one's own training and capability, according to the Health and Care Professions Council; Experience of autonomous practice working and multi-professional team working; Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.-
