Housing Support Worker temp role in Isle of Wight

Your new company 
We are recruiting for a dynamic organisation committed to providing support to young people aged 16-30. Our mission is to empower them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential. As a Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in helping young individuals navigate housing-related issues, education and employment whilst understanding the customer’s right to choice and control in their preferences and decisions.

Your new role 
Housing Support: Assist young people in securing safe and stable accommodation. This includes helping them find suitable housing, managing tenancy agreements, and addressing any housing-related concerns.
Emotional Well-being: Provide emotional support, active listening, and encouragement. Help young people develop coping strategies and resilience.
Education and employment: Support clients to navigate the best options for them in education and employment, helping with assessments, benefits and funding.
Advocacy: Advocate for young people’s rights and access to services. Collaborate with external agencies, social workers, and housing providers.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises promptly and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in your care.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and any incidents.

What you'll need to succeed 

• Experience: Previous experience working with young people, homeliness, substance misuse, or mental health.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends.
• DBS in the Update Service for a quick start.
