The expansion of the Engineering Department means we are now looking to recruit new Process Development Engineer for Glass Mineral Wool (GMW) in our offices in Visé, Belgium or St-Helen, UK and reporting to the Hot End Process Manager.

As Process Development Engineer, you'd be responsible to standardize, optimize & support the glass wool process across all UK and overseas plants, in terms of process development, efficiencies and sustainability.
What you’ll be doing:- Develop the glass wool process to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, increase throughput, or improve safety. This will involve running plant trials, analysis and reporting of trial results and the implementation of any developments across the GMW plants
- Report the performance across all GMW plants using appropriate Key Performance Indicators
- Play an integral part in the supply chain process, involving close liaison with internal and external customers
- Support new product development through optimization of key properties relevant to the end application. This will involve working with internal & external customers to understand the needs required, and develop the technology & process accordingly
- Support the development of new technologies in collaboration with colleagues from other areas of the insulation business
- Liaise with plant people at all levels to implement process controls and devise new methods of assessment and control the production process
- Provide support to all plants on any process or product related issues
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; produce regular technical and operational reports; briefing of colleagues; and deliver presentations to senior management or other customers
- Produce quarterly updates (written and presentation) detailing the developments within the process area

We are interested in you as a person; your attitude, behaviours and values. As long as you have the willingness to learn anything you need for the role that you don't already have, we'd love to speak to you. We're looking for someone who has excellent problem solving and analytical skills, who has strong working knowledge of MS Office, statistical software as well as experience with databases, and completed a degree in Engineering. Please keep in mind that the person who will be selected will be expected to travel frequently (up to 30%).
If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:
- Industrial experience preferable
- Languages: Fluent in English. French / German would be an asset
- Experience with project management is preferred
- Ideally some training and experience of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing techniques
- People management skills would be ideal
- Presentation skills to others at all levels of management to be expected
- Knowledge of financial budgeting and working within financial constraints will be useful
