Weare looking for an ambitious, motivated individual to join our friendly anddynamic team as a Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse on East Ward at Hinckleyand Bosworth Community Hospital. The successful candidate will have soundknowledge and experience of the patient cohort, good leadership skills, aproactive approach to problem solving and the ability to respond quickly tochallenges.

The ward is nurse led which will give you high levels of autonomy andsatisfaction which you wont find in other units and provides sub-acute care, complex rehabilitation andpalliative care. Our patient cohort is becoming increasingly complex due to theneed to facilitate transfer from acute trusts as soon as individuals aremedically fit for discharge and to prevent admission from home to the secondarycare sector.

Inthe role you would be responsible for co-ordinating the nursing team andproviding clinical leadership. In addition, you would assist the band 7 TeamLeader in the management of the ward and ensuring high standards of patientcare.

The post is part time, covering three days per week over a 7-day roster.

Main duties of the job

Deputise forthe Team Leader in their absence.

Activelycontribute to setting and maintaining high standards of nursing care.

Provideeffective clinical leadership and supervision to the ward team.

Contribute aspart of the MDT to the improvement of services and quality of care provision tomeet the needs of patients and their families.

Act as a rolemodel, mentoring, teaching, assessing and supporting students and learners onplacement and participate in the education, development and mentorship of otherstaff.

Qualifications

Essential

Level 1 Registered Nurse Adult. Degree level qualification or equivalent. Significant post registration experience as a nurse in relevant area of practice. Evidence of continuing professional development within the last 12 months.
