Job Details

  • As a Credit Lending Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting credit loan applications by utilising market leading software and various data points to make informed decisions around whether to approve or decline loan applications.
  • Day to day, you will be responsible for reviewing key documentation and making recommendations on credit viability along with identifying and flagging potential fraud risks.
  • Throughout the loans journey you'll support our customers by delivering exceptional customer service on outbound contact.
  • This means utilising various data points available to you including credit reports and application data to aid in making timely and accurate decisions.
  • However, you will also be afforded the opportunity to make suggestions to improve underwriting processes to help improve conversion rates, process efficiency and customer outcomes.

Skills we would love you to have
  • Previous underwriting experience is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate. We are more interested in seeing that you have the right base skillset and overall cultural fit.
  • This includes: having a problem solving mindset with the ability to dig deeper and build a picture using all data points available to you.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret multiple sources of data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • We would like you to have an underlying focus on customer service, comfortable conversing with customers on phone & email and other channels
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use systems necessary for the role.
