Job Title: QA Engineer

Location: Stirling, Scotland

Type of Employment: Full time, Permanent. Hybrid.

Hours: 37.5 hours

 

Responsible for:

We are seeking a QA Engineer to join Hydro’s Operations team and support our telemetry products.

 

Must have:

  • The applicant for this role would ideally be educated to HNC level in an engineering subject
  • Have a driving license
  • Eligible to work in the UK

 

Duties required for the role include: -

  • Schedule production of electronics equipment
  • Produce work instructions for production
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Conduct annual supplier audits in accordance with ISO9001, as well as additional supplier visits, especially during product builds
  • Manage non-conformances and corrective actions for Hydro Electronics Products
  • Obtaining and analysing supplier re-work and failure rate data where possible
  • Check for any gaps and inadequacies on Hydro drawings and work with the Product Development team to get these resolved

 

Compliance

  • Contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation
  • Gathering of internal information in response to compliance audits and regulatory requests
  • Review marketing materials, presentations, and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Carry out ATEX / EX Authorised Person responsibilities as specified by BS EN 80079-34
  • Carry out the duties of the ‘Responsible persons’ and ‘technical persons with executive function’ as specified by BS EN 60079

 

The skills required : -

  • Must be able to read engineering drawings
  • A good understanding of electronics assembly manufacturing processes is essential
  • They need to be computer literate
  • They must have a good knowledge of ISO9001
  • They should be capable of working methodically to ensure that quality is not compromised even when working under time constraints

 

Software: -

  • Microsoft suite
  • Warranty dashboard experience.
  • ERP systems such as NAV or SAP.

 

Industry: -

Working in the electronics manufacturing industry, experience with EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) companies.

 

 

Other desirable skills: -

  • Good communication with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good time management
