Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeshiprole within the Older Peoples Services Team.

The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers. The post will become a permanent position after you have successfully completed the apprenticeship programme.

As part of your apprenticeship, we will support you with your learning, the skills needed to undertake the role and won't expect you to do everything from the start You will be highly supported by our very friendly Apprenticeship team and will be given a regular 1-1 meeting with the team manager, so that we can talk through any issues and monitor your growth and development in the role.

You will need a good standard of English, Maths, and basic computer skills.

This apprenticeship requires you to have certificates in Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 4-9 or Grades A-C, or equivalent).).

Main duties of the job

The TACP will act both autonomously and in conjunction with the wider MDT in Assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing care; whilst maintaining associated healthcare records within the community/ in-patient settings. They will work towards demonstrating advanced clinical competence in clinical history taking and examination of all systems, with the ability to prescribe independently, over the 3 years apprenticeship (for nursing).

They may be required to offer support and supervision to colleagues and provide specialist advice relevant to their clinical practice, training, and expertise.

They may be required to assist in the delivery of training to team members as well as to teams outside of their clinical setting and the wider Trust.

They will provide clinical advice and leadership appropriate to heir professional background and provide profession specific advice and leadership to the wider team.

Job responsibilities

Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner. You will be expected to fulfil the full role and responsibilities by the end of the training period, and a development plan will be put in place by your line manager confirming the competencies they expect you to develop during that time. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress to band 8a as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship you must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years and have right to work for the duration of the apprenticeship. This is in line with the UK Government, Department for Educations Apprenticeship funding rules. You must not hold the same level of qualification (or above) in the same pathway or subject. We are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK for any apprentice role in the organisation.

It is Trust policy that if an existing employee chooses to apply for an apprenticeship vacancy a brand-new role, they will be paid at the apprentice wage / rate, regardless of their previous salary or banding. Requests for variation from this would be considered by the Trusts Vacancy Management Panel where the outcome may be to approve or decline the request.
