Profession , , Grade Contract Type Hours You need to or to save a job. We are seeking applications for Consultant posts in Stroke Medicine. You will join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of 8 Stroke consultants to deliver Hyperacute, Acute and Stroke Rehabilitation in our Hospital. You will be on a 1 in 7 Stroke on call rota for nights and weekends for this post. We are seeking a physician at Consultant or ST7 level with a background in any of the following specialities: Stroke, Geriatric Medicine, Neurology, Acute medicine, or an allied specialty with previous experience in Stroke medicine. Our Stroke unit is based in a major University teaching hospital with 800 inpatient beds. we have tertiary Cardiology, Cardiothoracic and Renal services on site. Our Stroke service delivers thrombolysis 24/7- and 7-day TIA clinics. We currently admit 1000 confirmed stroke patients a year. We have an established thrombectomy pathway to University Hospital of North Midlands. We have invested in new technologies like AI and will be bringing CT perfusion into service this year. We have weekly Neuroradiology meetings for continued service development.
We have a newly designed purpose built 39 bedded unit on our hospital site to accommodate all new Hyperacute and Acute Stroke patients. The new unit is directly adjacent to our new ED department which has full scanning facilities.
