Job Description
As a Class 1 Tramper driver, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers throughout the United Kingdom. Your role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our logistics network.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating state-of-the-art heavy goods vehicles to transport palette loads to HGV-compatible locations. Adhering strictly to predetermined shift patterns to ensure timely and consistent service delivery. Demonstrating a high level of commitment by undertaking a minimum of four nights per week away from base, utilising secure company locations for overnight stays. Maintaining absolute professionalism while representing DPD during all customer interactions. Efficiently managing and being accountable for a designated regional territory surrounding your assigned base depot. Ensuring meticulous compliance with all relevant road safety regulations and company policies. Upholding the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and cleanliness to reflect the company's commitment to excellence. Accurately completing all necessary documentation and digital records associated with deliveries and collections. Proactively communicating with dispatch and management teams to address any operational challenges or delays. Continuously demonstrating the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work, and Accountability in all aspects of your work.This role demands a high degree of responsibility, self-motivation, and dedication to maintaining DPD's reputation for exceptional service in the logistics industry.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications for this Critical Role:
Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence: Possession of this licence is mandatory and non-negotiable for this position. Extensive Class 1 Experience: A minimum of 12 months of verifiable Class 1 driving experience is imperative. This ensures the candidate has the necessary expertise to handle the complexities of the role. Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card: This certification is crucial, demonstrating the candidate's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional driving. Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card: This is an essential requirement for legal and efficient operation of our vehicles.
