About The Role

They will build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with their contacts, always striving to find the best solution that best fit the individual needs of the client.

The role of the Project Engineer is to drive the planning, execution of the plan, and finalise projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes directing resources and co-ordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Engineer will be fully conversant with the project’s objectives and will ensure this is delivered in full to their delivery team.
Key Areas of Responsibility: To carry out site inspections and see projects through with the business’ cradle to grave approach. This involves the provision of specific advice in relation to their access requirements and to provide a detailed proposal/quotation together with site drawings, risk assessments, method statements and HGV routes to site. On some sites, supervision and project co-ordination skills are essential. To understand and engage the commercial aspect of contracts , including negotiation and agreement of T&C’s between Sunbelt Rentals and the Customer Provide outstanding customer service in all dealings with our customers To create new business leads and respond to all Customer enquiries professionally and promptly Progression of all enquiries through the Contact Centre, but retaining responsibility for ensuring they are delivered and programmed as necessary Execution of contracts in a timely manner using Sunbelt Rentals’ high standards and procedures Adhere to enforce the company’s strict Health & Safety policies and other applicable environmental or safety related policies Evaluate and advise on any site specific requirements such as enforced security Use a flexible approach to meet the business needs and requirements What can we offer you in return? You’ll be joining a highly successful FTSE100 company, the UK’s largest equipment rental provider. We provide an Industry leading flexible rewards package including generous holiday allowance (with the opportunity to buy and sell annual leave), life assurance, retail discount scheme, employee recognition awards and a great Company pension scheme.

About You

The successful candidate must have previous working experience in a similar role, with a strong commercial understanding of H&S legislation and the ability to drive continual improvement and handle internal work relationships.

For this role you will need: Confident decision making on site to offer reliable and deliverable solutions to meet customer expectations. Ability to respond to changes and unforeseen challenges, whilst remaining professional to the customer, but work alongside the other business functions on designing and executing alternative plans. Good communication skills both written and oral. Previous experience of managing customer sites, commercial negotiation and a basic understanding of pricing and profitability. Previous experience of producing site drawings, and in particular trakway solutions, would be preferable. Experience within the Trakway sector is essential to ensure the 3 month fast learning curve is achievable and technical jargon and product knowledge is understood from the offset. As the role is field based, the individual must be very safety conscious, have an understanding of risk assessments and be comfortable digesting customer terms and conditions. Once digested, they can work with the Commercial Manager to mitigate this business risk or professionally respond to the customer rejecting their conditions. The role is field based requiring a significant amount of travel, time away from home and work on sites. The role does not include significant amounts of manual handling, but the individual will probably be most comfortable if in good physical health.
The role often can be unsociable hours dependent upon customer projects and travel time.
