Library Learning Facilitator

The Library department is a small and friendly team that works together to provide important learning resources. They have an innovative approach to promoting library benefits and are committed to supporting the curriculum teams.
The Library Learning Facilitator is a student-facing role which will provide front-line support to learners and staff in the access and use of learning resources, including ILT applications, online learning and print-based materials.
The post holder will be expected to work effectively with minimum supervision, using initiative, but referring matters of policy or non-routine issues for guidance.
This post also includes an Acquisitions role. Main responsibilities include receiving and processing new stock, the accurate receipting of stock, invoicing and crediting of shelf-ready and other material in all formats, using the library management system as directed.
The post will involve working one evening per week (until 6 pm) and occasionally until 8 pm.
This is a part-time role working hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
Deals with queries and reports for books and serials, and cancellation of orders as required. Supports students and other library users in the access and use of learning resource materials, providing guidance and demonstrating systems and materials as required. Supports students and other library users in study skills acquisition, such as 1-2-1 support and small group sessions. Seeks to support the delivery of excellent customer service through teamwork & knowledge sharing, contributing to shared meetings and project groups. Mentors or trains new staff or work experience students where appropriate. Contributes to the general Library clerical and administrative duties as appropriate. Uses and updates Information Management systems used to support the Library service.
