A top-rated secondary school in Selby is searching for an experienced and passionate General Science teacher to join their team on a long-term, full-time temporary contract starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be paid and will have the opportunity to work with a well-behaved student body and a highly experienced and professional team in the Science department.
Length of contract: 1 year temporary or fixed term contract (possible permanent opportunity for the right person)
Salary: MPS - UPS

The timetable will be manageable, including plenty of PPA time and teaching classes for students aged 11-16 with mixed ability levels.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to join a successful and supportive department and contribute to the growth and development their students.
As a General Science teacher, you will be responsible for:
• Delivering engaging and effective lessons in Biology and Chemistry at Key stages 3-4 and KS5 Physics.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress
• Collaborating with other teachers and department members
• Participating in department meetings and professional development opportunities
• Supporting and advising students and parents
To be considered for this position, you must have:
• A degree in Science or related field
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• A proven track record of teaching General Science and Physics
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A passion for teaching and a desire to inspire students
• A valid DBS check or be willing to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
