The Central Ticket Office deal with the vast proportion of traffic offences that are committed in Greater Manchester. They play a vital role in keeping the roads of Greater Manchester safe by prosecuting those that commit offences on the roads.

The Central Ticket Office manages the administration of fixed penalties and traffic offence reports. It also handles prosecutions of offenders who fail to comply with the Road Traffic Act and administers offers of driver education. The unit has four team leaders and up to thirty staff. Also based at the Central Ticket Office are the Camera Technicians, who oversee the operation of Greater Manchester's speed cameras on behalf of the GM Casualty Reduction Partnership.

This role is extremely demanding with the introduction of the varying digital cameras together with the ongoing and varying changes to the back office systems. The successful candidate will be required to deal with complex high volume work from both current enforcement and the ongoing increase in the varying average speed and smart motorway enforcement.

This role is based at Hyde Police Station and some of the main duties are:

•To provide IT and operational support for all computer systems specific to the Central Ticket Office (CTO).

•To resolve and manage day to day computer and IT issues within the CTO, ensuring all equipment / systems are maintained and in working order in liaison with internal IS Branch, external relevant agencies and national bodies.

•To liaise with the Information Compliance Department as required in order to provide information to respond to Freedom Of Information (FOI) requests.

•To provide operational and technical advice to management in relation to statistics in road behaviour.

•To act as the GMP administrator for Pentip.
