The role requires a mix of skills; team leadership (both as part of the leadership group and the engineering team directly), technical leadership, people management and customer focus.

Promotes an agile and lean approach to software development, encouraging continuous improvement. Delegates tasks and responsibilities to ensure required work gets done and the team gain skills and experience. Able to have open and honest discussions of their people’s performance. Gives constructive feedback and difficult feedback that lands nicely and drives improvement. Cares for their people; is primarily concerned with their people’s well-being and is considerate of their feelings and needs. Excellent skills using a modern object-oriented language – we write code in a plethora of languages, including C#, Java, TypeScript and Go. See our Technical Radar ()  Technical awareness (or a good understanding) of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud computing (AWS, Azure). You thrive in a highly collaborative team and are enthusiastic about engaging with customers, designers, and product managers as necessary to create great products and services.  Experience as a people manager with proven success of running 1:1s, caring and helping everyone in your team, coaching and mentoring to support their growth and progress
